Junk in My Trunk

I haven't done a confessions post in a while.  So here goes.

I confess that I'm having a really good hair day and I kind of feel like it's going to waste since I have no plans today.

I confess that I always grab an extra Splenda or two..or three.  And sometimes I'll grab an extra Creamer...or two.  Does that make me a thief?  I am a paying customer.  I just like to take a little extra for the road.

I confess that I reuse sandwich bags.  Even the cheap ones that don't close at the top.  If I pack something like carrots  the bag is barely used.  I like to get my use out of things.
I confess that I'm still wearing nail polish from Maui.  It was this pretty matte mint green color and it matched my bikini.  Well, it doesn't look so good anymore and I probably won't be in that  bikini for another 6 months so....yeah, time to take it off before MJ starts asking me what's up with my toe nails.  I'm surprised he hasn't already.

While we're at it I confess that I've always hated my feet.  I have really long toes and the 2nd toe overlaps the big toe. I didn't where open toed shoes until after college.  It took me even longer to get my first pedicure and when I was dating someone I was always afraid to let them see my feet.  Like, deep breath...this could be a deal breaker.  I'm over it though, for the most part.  I'm still not a fan but it's not a major source of embarrassment and I don't hide them in shame anymore.  Unless I really need a pedicure, like now.

I confess that I've got a lot of junk in my trunk.  Not my butt, although I do feel that it's pretty substantial.  I'm talking about my actual trunk.  In my car.  And the contents of my glove compartment spring forward when you open it.  Every other part of my car is neat as pin.  I promise.  The trunk is not nearly as bad as it used to be.  I used to use it as extra storage when I lived in my tiny studio.  Now I just have a few things bumping around back there that I apparently don't need considering they've been back there for over a year.  I've always thought that the way people keep their car is a reflection of how they keep their homes.  In my case it's true.  The guest rooms are messy but the main areas that everyone sees are neat.

I confess that I've tracked my calories every single day since I got my iPhone in December of 2009.  I even track when I'm on vacation even though I don't like what I see.  Four years ago Lose it! was the first app I downloaded.  That's either really awesome or really ridiculous depending on how you look at it.  It's just something I do.  Lose It! is so sweet.  They rewarded me with free premium membership for life.  My commitment has not gone unnoticed.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

  1. OK, your feet story is MY story! I'm serious, EVERY part. Hilarious! Now I've come to terms with my feet because I realize that feet are just plain ole ugly.

I reuse my sandwich bags too!

I still have my polish on my feet from Vegas in October, SO bad! I'm fixing that next week, lol.

Hope you have a great weekend!

  5. Hahaha, I have junk in my trunk as well! ;-)

  7. Haha my feet are like twins of yours except a bit smaller I think. My big toe and second toe overlap on my right foot too ahaha. I just like to think of it as my special foot ;) My fam calls it my bunion foot (thanks family). I wouldn't worry too much about it! PS- I LOVE that nailpolish. I'd never take it off either

  8. Everyone hates their feet, and I steal Splendas too -- giving you the A-okay! ;)

Love this post, it's so refreshing to see bloggers keep it real and honest.

  9. Yesterday night we went out to dinner...which never happens on a Fri night because I usually way too tired after work. But I had a good hair day so there really wasn't any choice in the matter. :)

    Have a nice weekend!

  10. I love confession posts, and your calorie tracking kind of reminded me how I've neglected tracking mine since.... Thanksgiving? Yikes! That's seriously awesome that you've kept track of yours so well!

  11. I always take extra sugar. I keep it in my desk at work, just in case someone surprises me with coffee and didn't put any sugar in it.

I actually like my feet. (This is rare, I know.) I still have remnants of nail polish from October. But to be fair, it's been freezing outside and snowy ever since. The only part of my body I'd change is my boob size. I'm 32 but have smaller boobs than some of my 14-yr old students. Womp.

I've been tracking my calories on my phone for over a year on myfitnesspal. Even on days where I've eaten like crap, I track it. I find it's helpful to see what foods have had an effect on my weight and feeling of well-being. Plus, it helps me make better choices knowing that I'm going to record what I've eaten. It helped me lose 40 lbs in less than a year. I can't believe I resisted calorie counting for so long.

    Have a great weekend!

  13. I hate my feet too. I have super little toes and my feet are super wide at toe and super narrow at the heel. I've never hid my feet though - mostly because the only shoes I'm truly happy in are my Chacos.

    Loved this post!

  14. Love these confessions...I tried tracking calories awhile ago and completely forgot about it. I don't like my toes either....I actually don't know anyone that loves their feet!!

  15. my husband reuses sandwich bags too, I always ask him why he does, so I am sure he will love hearing someone else does it as well!

I think we all hate our feet, at least we can make them look gorgeous with that great color polish! :)

  16. I think feet in general are just pretty unattractive. I try not to stare at mine ever, haha. i also have a ton of junk in the trunk of my car. but i do actually use it, like reusable shopping bags. a wheely cart for when i'm at the farmer's market. a towel in case the dog gets muddy...

  17. I've never really liked my fee either - I have short stubby toes. lol. Anyways, that nail polish rocks and I don't blame you for not changing the color, like ever....haha. jk. if only it were THAT easy, right? By the way, I just found your blog from over at Kate the Almost Great's blog! I'm so glad I did :) Excited to be following along now! Come say hi if you get a chance, I love making new blogging buddies!

  18. I used to be so insecure about my feet. Until college. I'd ALWAYS have socks on and if I didn't' I'd try to tuck them under the chair so no one could see them. The weird part, once I started not caring and just let them be free, I got TONS of compliments about how I had cute and perfect feet. What on earth I was self-conscious about is beyond me.

  19. No shame in your game, I reuse plastic bags too! All the time!! And brown paper bags for lunch!

  20. I totally reuse ziplock bags!! We have people that steal condiments, so a few splenda and a creamer are not that bad ;)

  21. I love this! I totally take ketchup, mayo, napkins, and the plastic baby table mats from Chick Fil A every time we go, which s like twice a week. So I'm worse than you! And I don't think your feet are ugly at all!! They just look normal to me. And I love that polish color...I'd keep it on as long as possible too!

  23. This post is awesome! It made me laugh. I just hate feet in general. I don't like anyone touching my feet and I sure as hell don't like to see/touch anyone else's. I'm weird. I wear the same nail polish on my toe's for FOREVER. It's really a bad habit. Like right now, they are partially red because most of it has come off, but they have been red for months. Lazy I know. That's awesome that you track your calories so diligently. I wish I would get into that habit. Do you just enter what you eat into the app or what?
