Girl Scout Cookie Time

I'm about to have another oh my goodness I'm getting old moment which sucks because it means I'm getting old but here goes.  When I was a Girl Scout cookies were only $2.00 per box and the ONLY way to sell was door to door to door and begging your mom take the form to pass it around at work.  Tagalongs were called Hoedown's and the Do-si-dos/Peanut Butter Sandwich were called something else.  My memory has faded but I think they used to be Savannahs.  Dulce de Leches, Lemonades, Thanks A Lot and bunch of others didn't exist, each cookie only had one name and Girl Scouts Inc didn't have a website.  That was a long time ago! Now they are $4.00, I don't even know if Girl Scouts have to pound the pavement anymore what with social media and e mail and half the cookies have an identity crisis.
Shortbread/Trefoils, Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs, Carmel DeLites/Samoas
One thing that hasn't changed is that people still love them including me and my favorite one of all time is the Tagalongs/Peanut Butter Patties.  I'm a sucker for anything with chocolate and peanut butter.  If you're like me you might be wondering what's up with the double naming of cookies.  Apparently, there are two bakers for Girl Scout cookies now.  Little Brownie and ABC.  The name varies depending on which baker produced the cookie and the name you see on the box depends on where it came from.  I don't understand why they wouldn't just make them decide on a name and stick to it.  Can't they hold a meeting about that or pass a law?  Anyways.  Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs and Shortbread/Trefoils are the only three cookies that must be made every single year and the others can be changed.  Good for us since we really like those.  We got all three.

For a while I didn't even know when they were being sold and kept missing out but now I have a co worker who sells for her niece and she lets me know.  Most of these went into the freezer so we don't over do it.  Turns out that we already had a box of Trefoils in the there from last year!  So yeah, we have plenty.  BUT if I just so happen to see a Girl Scout outside of the grocery store I might just so happen to buy another box of the Hoedown/Tagalongs/Peanut Butter Patties.  I really can't have enough of those.

I go crazy for thin mints! I buy them every chance I get. I'm obsessed. I can't wait to see the little girl scouts selling at the mall! I have to control myself and only buy 2 boxes at a time because I would buy 5 boxes at a time and well, let's just say they never lasted very long.

I think they were 2/box when I was in Brownies as well. My favorite are the lemon creme filled ones, tagalongs, and shortbread. yummmmyyyy!

Samoas are my go to... I mean... Carmel Delites.

I can eat a whole box in one sitting.

Mmmmm....
Now I'm craving some and I opted out buying any due to I should be dieting.
Yet, oreos and pinwheels are sitting on my counter at home.

Your prices are higher than ours! We're still $3.50! When I was a girl scout going door-to-door...I remember cookies being 1.50! Times have changed...And Carmel Delites??!! Oh no no no! lol. I'm a Thin Mint / Samosa girl.

PEANUT BUTTER PATTIES ARE MY FAVORITE TOO! I feel like we're best friends now bc EVERYONE and their mother loves thin mints, and I'm all like "nah..." but peanut butter patties? holy moly!
but alas, i don't buy any cookies bc I know exactly where they'll end up...my hips.

I didn't even realize they had two names.... I'm a Samoa's and Thin Mints gal. And I can never say no to a cute little girl scout in front of a grocery store, which means either we have an over abundance of cookies or a shortage of actual groceries.

I LOVE Girl Scout cookies but have not had them in forever. Thanks for the reminder, I just looked online to find where they are selling them in my area and I am going tomorrow to get some : ). I love Thin Mints and Samoas, and the Shortbread ones. I need to try the Peanut Butter ones, I'm sure they would be one of my favorites too!

I am a sucker for girl scout cookies. Samoans don't last long in my possession. My intent is always to buy tons of boxes and freeze them so I can have some throughout the year, but no fail I wake up in the middle of the night and take out the frozen cookies to stuff my face with. Can't help it, those cookies are an addiction!

PB Patties are my favorites too...I could eat an entire box in one sitting if I'm not careful. I haven't bought any yet this year but I'm hoping I see some for sale soon...not that we need them but they're too good to pass up!

Girl scout cookies are my weakness. I thought I was doing good by not ordering any this year, then my daughter told me she ordered 2 boxes from her teacher. Ugh...

I was saying the same thing the other day! They were SO much cheaper when I was in Girl Scouts. I think they nixed door to door because there are so many creepers out there, but I always see them at Walmart!
