Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens - Bellagio Hotel
Las Vegas hotels are a spectacle, and a lot of your entertainment in Vegas comes just from wandering around and taking in the sights. This enchanted garden is the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens and the best time to visit this 14,000 square foot space is late at night (or early am) because it’s very crowded otherwise. It takes over 11,000 flowers to make this happen and they change the theme out every season. This is “Giardino Dell’ Amore” or Garden of Love for Spring and it ends on May 20 so there will be another set up for Summer when we come back next month. It was so peaceful with the classical music playing and just really beautiful to look at and they pump in special scents so that it also smells really nice too. They started something new recently, offering dining service right in the center of this area at the Garden Table. They seat 4-6 max and it’s $125 to $225 per person depending on the meal. That could be fun.

You are probably wondering if all of those flowers are real? I was too. Well, it looks like over the years the number of real plants and flowers has gone down so I don't think it is 100% real anymore, but 11,400 live plants is still pretty impressive. And I honestly can't tell either way.
The Bellagio Hotel
The Bellagio pool might be my new favorite Las Vegas pool. Like most Las Vegas Hotels it is beautiful, lush, grand, and very Mediterranean. This one had two very large pools side by side. The water was warm-ish which I really like because it makes it so easy to get in and I really enjoyed the very chill vibe at this pool. It’s not a party pool at all. I didn't see any signs that banned bringing in your own food and drinks which is great because everything at the pool is extremely overpriced. We even managed to get loungers with an umbrella so we could actually sit and enjoy our drinks, even though we spent most of the time in the pool. We were there for about four hours; and the time just flew by. The temps were in the 90's which is nothing for Vegas; not nearly as hot as it's going to get later on this summer. It was the sweet spot between hot but not too hot.
The Bellagio Hotel itself is stunning. I was so excited to stay there. I stayed there a looooong time ago and MJ never had. Our Premier King room was beautiful, spacious, clean and recently remodeled. The Premier King and the Premier Two Queen are the most recently remodeled rooms but this is a four star hotel so you probably can't go wrong. We didn't, but you can pay extra to book a Bellagio Fountain view room. Speaking of which I'm so bummed we never caught the fountain show. We were just go go go and never caught it.
Ramsey's Kitchen - Harrah's Casino
MJ has been wanting to go to one of Gordon Ramsey's restaurants so I surprised him with reservations at Ramsay’s Kitchen. It’s definitely a good idea to make a reservation in Vegas if there is a specific place you want to go at least two weeks in advance sometimes more. It really depends on the restaurant but for some of them you HAVE to or else you won’t get in at all. I enjoyed my meal here, but it seemed a bit skimpy. Like, can we get some free bread? I have mixed feelings about spending a ton of money on food. Whenever we do, it's a nice dining experience and I really enjoy it, but on the other hand I know that I can also be really happy dining out on food for half the price. I had steak, he had Beef Wellington. We also ordered pureed potatoes and one glass of wine each. If you want to spend a lot of money on food, I would suggest Tom Colicchio's Craft Steak at MGM Grand. We went there last time we were in Vegas. The food was to die for and I left there a lot more more satisfied.
Mamma Rabbits Mezcal + Tequila Bar at Park MGM.
We stopped at Mamma Rabbits after dinner and I definitely plan to go back. It had that bar/lounge feel, but good really upbeat music so you could dance and pretend you are at a club but without all the club BS. They played a nice mix of current and older songs. I don't know if it's just because it was May and it's not as busy as it will be later on the summer but it was pretty empty and that was fine by me. We had our pick of seats at the bar and I got my dance on by myself and had a grand old time.
Michael Jackson One - Mandalay Bay
It took us 45 minutes to get from Bellagio to Mandalay Bay for the Micheal Jackson One show. We were
going to stick with the trams but we ran out of time. We took the tram from Bellagio to Park MGM and then had to Uber from there. These hotels are
just so big that getting out of one and into the next takes longer than
you think. It’s been a few years since we’ve been to a show in Vegas and MJ was really wanting to see this one so I surprised him with tickets; which I booked with Viator. This was a really good show. Michael Jackson’s music was good of course and Cirque Du Soleil shows are always very well done. Seeing his old videos and hearing some of my favorite Michael Jackson songs reminded me of what a talented and incredible performer he was. The show included dancing, acrobatics, aerial performers. This is not a Michael Jackson impersonator show; although there was one main guy who had all the moves; but the theme was Michael Jackson, his music, and his music videos. They did a really good job pulling everything together. We were in the 4th row; but it’s a pretty small venue so I don’t think there is really a bad seat in the house. This is one of the most expensive shows on the strip right now but if you enjoy shows I think it's worth seeing.
Easy's Cocktail Lounge - Aria
We met friends over at a hidden speakeasy called Easy's Lounge Aria Hotel. I would not have known about this place otherwise and they don't make it easy to find. It’s located between Easy Donuts and a Coffee shop. You kinda have to know that it’s there in order to go there because there are no signs. Just a man behind a rope standing in front of a shelf. What you don’t realize is the shelf is actually a door. It opens up and then access granted to Easy’s Lounge. They have a live jazz type of band and plush seating. The vibes here are so good and chill. There is a $50 minimum per person for drinks but that is really not that hard to do when the cheapest drink on the menu is $18.00. The drink presentation on some of the drinks was really unique. Some of them come with billowing smoke inside of a box or a paw print similar to coffee art. The band was really entertaining and we had a lot of fun hanging out. You can request reservations online, but we didn't do that. Our group showed up and was able to get a table.
The main reason for our trip this time was a surprise wedding at the Venetian hotel. I mean, they knew they were getting married, of course but the bride didn’t know that all of us were going to be there so it was a really sweet surprise. The timing for this trip worked out really well because I got to spend Mother’s Day with my mom. We went to brunch on Sunday around noon and spent the night at their house. They also had a flight they needed to catch that same day so we went to the airport together. This trip was a freaking blur! We packed in a lot during our two nights on the strip. We had some downtime at my parents’ house; but other than that it was go, go, go. MJ rarely gets tired, but I was exhausted by the end of each day, but I had so much fun. I can’t wait to go back next month!!
