Pre Vacation Confessions

I confess that I have never used this much vacation time all at once in my life.  96 hours!!!  I'm such a vacation day hoarder that I was notified that I HAD to use up so many vacation hours by the end of this year.  Being the obedient employee that I am, I immediately booked a trip to Europe.  Even after,  I'll still have over 100 hours left.

I confess that I have spent hours and hours on research for our vacation.  Hours.  Like it's my job.  I could practically write a guide book on the 8 European cities we are traveling to.  I don't want to get there and have to waste time trying to figure out what to do and how to do it.  A European vacation doesn't come around that often and we need to make the most of every single day and do it as cheaply as possible.

I confess that I've been obsessively checking the weather for the cities that we are going to visit.  I added Barcelona, Nice, Rome, Naples, Paris AND Amsterdam to my i phone weather app.
My pretty passport
I confess that when I thought about not working out for two weeks I got a little nervous.  The ship has a great gym so my goal is to get in two workouts while we're on the cruise but other then that I'm just gonna try not to worry about it too much.  We'll be too busy exploring and having fun.  That alone is going to be enough to wear me out.  Walking will be my main source of exercise and that's gonna have to be okay.

I confess that I have tracked my calories in Lose it every day since I got my i phone almost two years ago.  I'm still trying to decide if I should break my streak and not bother to track calories at all while I'm gone.  I'm going to be eating as much Pizza in Italy as I can so what's the point?

I confess that I haven't read my Glamour or Marie Claire Magazines for the past two months just so I could save them for my trip.  It's a looong plane ride.  I'm also taking a book called Ice Cream Girls.

I confess that I'm going to pack this weekend and pretend that I'm leaving on Monday.  That way I still have time to obsess over my luggage which hopefully means less anxiety when I actually walk out the door for good.  Packing is stressful.  Speaking of which...

I confess that I still have no idea how I'm going to fit 14 days of clothing into ONE suitcase.

I confess that I still can't believe I'm going to Europe.  It probably won't sink in until I land at the airport in Spain.

I confess that I get butterflies when I think about seeing Mj again.  After six weeks we'll be seeing each other for the first time again at the airport in Spain.  It's just so romantic.

I confess that this blog is going to be on pause while I'm away.  If anyone is interested in guest posting let me know.  I'd need it by Wednesday.

I confess that in all my years of blogging I've never had a guest poster so if anyone agrees to do it they'll be the first.

Can you tell I'm super excited about my trip?

I can't wait to read all about your vacation! It sounds so exciting :) And I do the same thing with magazines...only I've never had so long of a trip - usually I just save them for the two hour drive to the beach! Ha!

If you need a guest poster, I'd love to write something for you. Let me know if you'd be interested!

I confess that I am super jealous of your trip! Also, enjoy all the food and take a break from your calorie app. I'm sure you won't gain any weight, especially if you do work out some :)

B. HOLY COW - i am GREEN with envy. What a fabulous vacay!

C. DO NOT COUNT CALORIES ON VACAY! On our HM I didn't pay a LICK of attention and weighed LESS when I got home!!!! But now I know how you look so good!

I ended up with 4 magazines-2 of them thick Fall fashion issues-and all together they are heavier then I expected! But that's okay. I can toss them or pass them on as I finish reading them and by the time I get where I'm going they'll be gone.

You came back weighing less AFTER vacation?? I am green with envy over that! I should be so lucky.

First of all...you are SO gorgeous! Second, I am jealous of your vacation. Europe is awesome! My husband and I studied abroad in Florence and I had been several times before that. You will love it! Don't over pack your suitcase, you will want to do some shopping while there. And eat all the pizza you want!

You'll have a fabulous time on your vacation. I haven't been to Nice or Naples but the other places are so much fun!
You'll be getting quite a few stamps on your passport.
Have fun with your hubby. I am sure he is just as excited to see you after 6 weeks apart.

I am getting super excited for you just reading your post. I love how your organized and plan everything. I'm kind of the same way. A touch of anxiety is not so bad :). That's how you get things done. LOL. I really wish you all the best. I know you'll have a great time. Hubby and I are planning a European vacation for next year. Maybe we can get some ideas from you when you get back. AND I agree, it's very romantic that you'll be meeting your hubby in Spain. Sounds like something from a movie. Too cute :)

Thanks so much!! I have a friend who studied in Florence. Not over packing is soooo hard!! I'm really trying to be practical and of course I want room for stuff I buy there. I seriously can't wait for the Pizza. That's the only reason I ever wanted to go to Italy! Joking but not really!

Thank you so much. I can't believe it's almost here. I'm sure I'll have plenty of tips for your trip after I get back.

Have a great trip. Drink lots of Sangria in Spain. I seriously didn't have one bit of pizza the entire time I was in Italy. I did have some of the freshest seafood in Positano! To die for!! I had Gelato EVERYDAY!! So good!
