I'm going to jump back in time to August. Even though it's November. Why bother you ask? Because this is my blog and it has to be here. Late or not. I went out of state once per month in July, August, and September. I think I was overwhelmed by all the posting it was going to be and my time was stretched between writing and YouTube so I didn't. Now I feel like I can't not so I'm doing two summer things catch up posts.
Recently we tried Hungry Root; A meal delivery service that focuses on grocery delivery with simple recipes. After completing a quiz at sign up, you pick a plan size and get either their suggested meals or ones you choose to substitute in yourself. And because it’s a grocery delivery service you can also order snack foods, and other a la carte grocery items that you might need for the week using a credits system. I do not quite understand how the credit system works, so I can't really explain it that well, but somehow the number of credits you have is based on your plan size and then that determines how much you end up paying for any a la carte items. Anything that you would get at the grocery store you can also get from them. Dairy, bread, produce. They have it all.
I don't even think about how old I am anymore on my Birthday. Once I got to a certain age, it was just whatever. Half the time, I can't even remember how old I am anyway! I'm upping my skincare game, keeping fit, and keeping up with my medical appointments. That's really all I can do. I am another year older, and I definitely see hair dye in my near future, but I can't dwell on it. Birthdays are not about feeling old! It's about enjoying the day, however that might look for that particular year. When I've had to spend it alone I made the best of it, but I much prefer spending it with people I love.
I am feeling so good about how much exercising I've been doing lately. My knees will probably tell a different story, but I think it's been worth the pain! This month I finished Barre Blend by Beach Body. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect from this workout. I love ballet and have taken adult ballet classes, so I really welcomed the opportunity to do barre work and infuse grace into my exercise routine. Well. I don't know why, but I didn't realize how hard it would be. The first word that comes to mind when I think of that very first workout is BURN. And it hits you in all of your body parts at the same time, while keeping your heart rate elevated. I was shocked at how high my heart rate got doing low impact exercise. Within about three minutes my heart rate was already in cardio zone and that was just the warm up.
I'm the cheap one in the family. Always have been always will be! So when my husband started making noises about getting a roomba, and saying that one day we would have one, I really wasn't trying to hear it. The usual objections applied. It's too much money. I can do it myself. We already have a vacuum. Although, I will admit our vacuum is probably on it's last legs. It's been making this really high pitched screeching sound, and I fear it's only a matter of time before it makes no sound at all. But the point is, that I'm perfectly capable of vacuuming our house and I don't need a robot to do it.
When we went into lock down that didn't change working out for me because I'd already been working out at home for a really long time and loving it. That being said, it was NOT my idea to do Bikini Body Guide. It was actually my husbands, and being that I am working from home made committing to an exercise program together more doable. I knew it would be a challenge, but I agreed to do it as long as my knees would let me.
