Breaking Bad and Thongs

A little bit of random...

It really sucks waking up for work on Friday morning when your husband has the day off and is slumbering away in bed.  But such is life.

I'm really proud of myself for breaking the shopping habit.  I was clean and shopping sober all last month and I plan to do it again this month.  Okay, so I did purchase some exercise DVD's but that's essential to my health and well being so it doesn't count.  Save, save save is my mantra until Vacations and The Holiday's show up to kick my financial butt.

Like everyone else I love, love loved the Breaking Bad finale.  I love it how everything was wrapped up and seems to have happened exactly as it should.  On the surface the show was about a Biology teacher with cancer turned big time meth dealer and the twists and turns his life takes as he switches careers.  The take away message was so much more then that and in the end I was able to identify with Walter White the way I had in the beginning before he got all evil and I started hating his guts.  We all want to be successful and good at something.  We want to provide for ourselves and our families, but if you let your desire for money, power and success overcome your morality it will destroy you in the end. It might take a while but evenutually it will.  Not a bad message for a show where eleventy million people were murdered over meth.

Confession Time!!!

I confess that I've never tried a Pumpkin Spice or Pumpkin anything and thanks to blog land it truly feels like a deep dark shameful secret.

I confess that it was 65 degrees on the way to work and expected to get to 81 ish by afternoon and I'm still loving it even though everyone has gone all goo goo ga ga over Fall.  The boots and sweaters are still off duty and I'm totally thrilled.  Thanks to blogland this also feels like a really deep dark shameful secret.

I confess that I can't swim.  I never learned as an itty bitty child and then when I was around middle school age there were a few rounds of swimming lessons but by then I think it was too late.  I can doggy paddle but if I were tossed into the middle of a body of water I would definitely drown.  My dad is the only one in my family who can swim.  I think my bones are too heavy.  We were watching Iron Man 3 and there was this awesome scene where he gets everyone to hook together when they fall out of the plane.  He saved them by dropping them into the ocean when they got close enough.  I was thinking, how cool that he saved all those people-except if I were one of them I'd still die.

I confess that I get really excited when my underwear matches my outfits.  I'm not sure why since no one else can see that I am perfectly coordinated but somehow I feel just that much more "finished" and put together.  While I'm on the topic of underpants are people still wearing thongs?  I just can't.  I never found a thong that didn't feel like something uncomfortably lodged in my butt.  I wore one a few weeks ago for a few hours and it was awful.  Oh the things we do for our husbands!

I confess that my posture is terrible.  I feel like I'm sticking my boobs out if my back is too straight but I think that's just because I'm not as used to sitting up straight as I should be.  Actually, it's gotten a little better as I've tried to be more aware of it.  Having a husband who yells out "posture" like some kind of personal image coach drill sergeant has definitely helped.  If I don't want to hear his mouth I better pull my shoulders back.

I confess that I will be out enjoying our Non Fall weather at Mission Beach on Saturday and chilling at home on the couch on Sunday.

Happy Friday!!

  1. Hehe, I get excited when my bra and panties match, so I am right there with you. I need to get C in this posture drill sergeant mode because I also slouch way too much.

  2. My posture is terrible. I can't swim. And I've never had PSL. Pumpkin anything sounds gross to me.

    Breaking Bad forever!

  3. I cant swim either and nearly drowned this summer....very scary; I promise myself that I would take swimming lessons but so far no - I'd rather avoid the water.
I hate seeing bad posture in women and I sometimes want to do like your husband and yell "POSTURE!"
I love when my underwear matches, and I never understood the obsession with thongs. I put one one recently when I ran out of my underwear. I must say though it does excite my husband.
    I've never watched breaking bad.
This california weather is really great...I'll be enjoying it this weekend also.

  4. I can swim and learned at a very young age. I have friends who learned very late in life....like last year. It's a sad statistic but 70% of African Americans can't swim. The fear is usually passed down from the parents.
I have to correct myself on posture all the time.
I match by bra and panties sometimes. As for thongs it's all I wear. I hate big girl drawls and I only wear boy shorts to bed. Thongs don't bother me at all plus my hatred for seeing a pantyline supercedes if a thong hurts my butt which it doesn't. LOL!

  5. I confess that I've never seen Breaking Bad and know nothing about it! Although, I do keep reading about it everywhere.

I also confess that I didn't know how to swim until a few years ago when I took lessons from the same teacher as my then 5-year-old. It was humbling but I know how to swim! Makes me feel so much better.

    Have a great weekend!

  6. Great confessions!

I liked the finale of Breaking Bad, but I didn't find it to be as awesome as I think it should've been. I was probably the only person that was underwhelmed, but oh well.

I only learned how to swim about 5 years ago, totally by accident, and all on my own. I got into a pool at a water park that was mostly empty, and I just started "swimming". 5 years later, I can swim laps pretty well (minus all the fancy underwater flips). It's never too late to learn.

Ditto on the matching underwear and bad posture!

    Have a great weekend.

  7. Oh my gosh, girl you need to try a PSL at least once...it's better tasting than it sounds!! I confess that I can't swim either and thought pretty much the same thing when we watched that part of the movie. Ditto to the weather--yay for 70 degree fall weather!!!

  8. I am so glad someone else feels the same way I do about thongs. I HATE them. Always have. When I worked at Victoria's Secret one girl there said all she wore was thongs. I thought she was crazy! I will wear one if I absolutely have to but that's it. Who thinks something lodged in your butt crack is comfortable? I confess that I skipped over your entire paragraph about Breaking Bad. I have been trying to do that with all things Breaking Bad so that nothing is spoiled for me. I don't even want to know what the show is about lol. Also, you should try a Pumpkin Spice something or other, they are good!

  9. Oooo. Just teach him to say pretty instead of posture. Yeah.

  10. Please try the pumpkin bread at Starbucks! I had it for the first time two weeks ago and can't get enough of it! With all the Breaking Bad hype I started watching it and it's a pretty good show! I'm halfway through season 3 and am excited to get to the end since everyone seems so please with the show finale!

  12. I confess that we watched the first episode of Breaking Bad and never watched it again. How's that for a blogging sin? We just have no desire to get into that show!
And I'm SO glad it's not boots and sweater weather yet (okay, it kind of is. It totally snowed a bit on Friday, UGH!) because I'm in denial that winter is right around the corner. I'm soooo not looking forward to it!

  13. I confess that I almost exclusively wear thongs with dress pants... I mean, underwear lines are just no good! AND I just started watching the first season of Breaking Bad this weekend... I'm already hooked. I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

  14. I planned on starting Breaking Bad last year, but never got around to it. I need to put that on my list! I tried a PSL two years ago and hated it. Yuck. I like thongs, boy shorts, and the bikini cut. I learned to swim when I was really young, but I confess that I'm not really good at it.

  15. Thongs are awful awful awful. Men love to see them but they don't understand the pain because they don't have to wear them! LOL. I prefer to do seamless panties whenever possible.

  16. Anyone can learn to swim, but many people have a mental block. It is NEVER to late to learn, so I suggest you try. Especially if y'all ever have kids or are around kids. You would want to be able to save them if something happened ;)

  17. we are back on watching Breaking Bad, season 3. Which season are you? I couldn't swim until the age of about 22, always thought I had big bones but then I just opened my mind and started learning. I agree with Jenna, it's never too late to learn to swim.
